City Hall Elopements

Mark and Samantha’s NYC city hall elopement was the kind of day that reminds you why simplicity is so beautiful. These two flew in all the way from the UK with their two kids, Roman and Elle. They wanted a laid-back, meaningful celebration of love before heading off to Disney for two weeks of family vacation magic! And honestly, this day felt like a perfect reflection of who they are: down-to-earth, stylish, and wildly in love…not just with each other, but with their little family too.

Letting the Kids Be Kids During Your NYC Elopement

When we hopped on a Zoom call before the elopement, I told them exactly how I work with kids: zero pressure, all real moments. No forced smiles, no expectations just space for the chaos and cuddles that come with parenting. Roman and Elle brought the full toddler energy, complete with snacks and a stroller. It was perfect. We’d roll the stroller up for shots of just the parents, then let the kids wander close while I distracted them with silly games and “helper” duties. It was calm, fun, and full of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that make family stories so rich!

From Centre Street to West Village Dreams

After their courthouse “I do’s,” we wandered the steps of the Manhattan Municipal Building, capturing that editorial-meets-intimate vibe that New York does so well. Samantha looked like an actual vision in her short white dress with pearl-dotted sleeves (can we talk about that neckline?!), and Mark in his classic black tux was the cool dad personified. The columns, the crosswalks, even a casual hot dog stand, the city became the backdrop to their story, and they looked like movie stars living in it.

Cake on the Stoop After Your NYC City Hall Elopement Because, Why Not?

Instead of a formal reception, these two decided to make their post-elopement celebration one for the books, with their kids. Sitting on a stoop with a cake from Magnolia Bakery on Perry Street (yes, that Perry Street… Carrie Bradshaw’s block!). They found a beautiful brownstone, plopped down with forks in hand, and dug into the “Just Married” cake like it was the most natural thing in the world. People walking by kept asking if it was a styled shoot. Nope, just a couple being really in love and letting their kids be part of the whole thing!

Letting the Real Moments Lead Throughout Your NYC City Hall Elopement

This day was never about perfect poses or timelines, it was about presence. About letting the kids run wild, sneak cake frosting before lunch, and tug at their parents’ legs mid-photo. It was about letting Mark and Samantha soak in what it meant to be partners and parents, all in the same breath. And that’s exactly the kind of elopement I live for. The kind where your love gets to take up space in the realest, most personal way.

Sweet words from Mark & Samantha

We have never seen such beautiful photos in our entire lives. We ended up getting so giddy and opening
them up while waiting for a ride at Disney. We are blown away!! You are incredible. We cannot thank you
enough. You are unbelievable! On our wedding day I met the most genuine human in you. You are a dream! We adore you. We could never thank you enough.
